Heather Criss (one of our fabulous reception staff) is famous for her guided bus trips. Every month she takes a group of members and guests on a fabulous day out to see our wonderful city and its surrounds, and enjoy great food and a bit of fun. Her July bus trip has already sold out, but you can get in early for September...

TUESDAY 12 SEPTEMBER: BOWRAL TULIP FESTIVAL

The Southern Highlands are a delight to visit all year round, although never more so than springtime when Bowral is tranformed by a mass of colour. This year sees the 58th anniversary of the festival and once again Corbett Gardens is a beautiful centrepiece. Many of the private gardens of the Southern Highlands open their gates to raise money for charity, and we'll inspect at least one fo the award winners, along with a visit to Mount Gibraltar to take in the colourful panorama.

Our day includes morning tea at Nepean Dam near Bargo, and lunch at Robertson Inn where we will enjoy a two course meal including tea and coffee. Following lunch we will explore the wonderful area of Burradoo which has some magnificent houses and gardens.

Green Brier Park is a National Champion Garden set in an old Australian eucaplyptus woodland, overlooking Mittagong with magnificent views of the Nattai Valley and Blue Mountains. The garden incorporates an English style design with Australian native shrubs and trees to produce a unique garden setting on some three hectares. Perennial borders, formal lawns, streams and ponds, an old "cottage ruin", fountains, vistas and a beautiful range of trees and plants make this a garden not to miss.

This tour costs $80 for members and $85 for non-members and includes morning tea, two course luch, two garden entrance admissions and transport. The coach will leave the club at 8am and return at approximately 5.30pm.
